A follicular unit transplant (FUT) is widely accepted in
hair planting. This way, the donor area is trimmed and elliptical leakage is
removed for harvesting follicle. The ellipse dimensions are calculated up to
the recipient area to be grafted. The donor area is carefully closed to reduce
the formation of scar. The hair-picked skin is dissected under enlargement and
the hair's extra tissues are removed as well as the epithelium around as much
as possible. The grades containing clusters of one, two and three follicles are
placed into Petri dishes containing salted saline. Later, the graphs are inserted
appropriately into the recipient area.

In contrast to FUT, FUE is a technique to extract follicular
units with one or two roots using circular punches. Okuda was the first to use
circular self-made punches in different diameters (1-4 mm). He recommended that
punches be used 2-4 mm for 1 mm as, in his opinion, the trans-transmission rate
was quite high in 1 mm autumn. In the market, some FUE donor removal devices
are available; some of which are hand-held porches, some of them are motors and
some are a robotic-oriented user system, also called Advanced Follicular
Extraction robotic systems. Success with FUE depends on being able to dispose
of excellent grafts that are predictable with minimum transfer rates from the
donor region.
was introduced to optimize transplantation. This device has
three major parts: hairtome; manual pneumatic implants; and micromotor scaffold
handpiece with punching blade in 0.8-1.25 mm. The transfusion rates and
operating time are much lower with this device.
FUE has a number of advantages and disadvantages over FUT
which have been discussed very well in the past. A curve requires a curve time
and a longer operation, hand eye coordination, patience, stamina and hair need
to be short enough to achieve the appropriate harvest. Moreover, the
practitioner may be a candidate for prospective repetitive motion disorder in
time. Besides that, FUE results could be better and the number of follicles
transferred could be higher compared to FUT. In addition, FUE provides an
unnecessary solution for patients who claim that they do not accept an
incision.
A further transplant method, direct hair transplant, is
presented to alleviate the transit time which may reduce the durability of the
graph. Here follicles are implanted as soon as they are removed. This technique
has received a simple and feasible FUE modification.
An automated technique enables FUE a suction based follicle
harvest with a one or two-stage extraction technique. The follicles are
collected in suction twists which are later transplanted using a hand-held
piece with 0.8, 1 and 1.2 mm piercing produced specifically for this purpose.
The motor is silent and vibration free; however, the disadvantages are the
learning curve and the cost of the machine.
Micro-engraved microfilm transplantation is a recent method
in which hair is made outside with FUE but the bald area is transplanted by FUT
including stripping strips (with beveled diverters) and flushing the strip. The
author recommends that the transfer rate be transferred to almost 0%.
DHI, a modified version of FUE, has similarities with FUE
touches of hair follicle, but incorporates the follicles with unique tools
licensed and produced specifically for this purpose. The pen needle may vary in
size; cut needles are 0.40-2 mm in the market. After follicle harvest, each pen
is loaded with containing follicles 1 to 3 hair and subsequently implanted in
the recipient area that was not previously perforated. This technique allows
the practitioner to affix the recipient area densities and provides less trauma
and unnecessary field compared to FUE. Furthermore, there is no additional
poaching for the graphs as mentioned in other transplant techniques. On the
contrary, this surgery has a high learning curve, which means that this surgery
requires more qualified personnel per patient. In addition, the procedure is
done with 3 or 4 personnel, as each step is assigned to a unique team which
means that the room is more crowded than the other techniques. These pens and
procedure are relatively expensive compared to FUT or FUE. However, follicle
removal is much cheaper than robotic systems.
