FUE hair transplantation - the pros and cons of follicular single extraction

FUE hair transplantation is also known as follicular unit extraction. This is a relatively new method for hair transplantation that offers a less invasive means for harvesting hair from the donor site. The basic technique is to use precision tools to harvest the hair one follicle at a time and then plant them in small crevasses in the balding areas. This differs from the FUT (follicular unit transplantation) method where a strand of hair is removed from the donor area and the follicular units are then harvested from the strip.

As with any medical technique, there are advantages and disadvantages to the FUE Hair Transplant Lahore method. An obvious advantage of this method is that no large scar remains in the donor area. That does not mean that FUE is completely scar-free, but the scars it leaves behind are much easier to hide. For many patients this is a huge deciding factor in choosing the desired method of transplantation. Another advantage of this technique is that it is much less invasive than other methods. As a rule, patients can resume their strenuous activity shortly after their surgery and healing occurs very quickly.

One of the disadvantages of the FUE method is that it is easier to damage the follicles after extraction and therefore the process is less efficient than FUT. The reason for this is that a small cylindrical punch is used to separate the hair and the surrounding tissue from the scalp. If the punch is not perfectly aligned, it can cut the bottom of the hair follicle while it projects out of the area. This damages the hair and weakens the chances of survival. Another disadvantage is that the entire donor area must be shaved before the procedure. For some people this is a big problem and for others this is not a big problem.

In general, the FUE hair transplantation method is less efficient than FUT. It is much harder to harvest an adequate amount of hair for large procedures. The operation usually takes much longer and is therefore more expensive than other methods. With that said, many patients still prefer this method due to the fact that they are not willing to have a large scar on the back or side of their head. In certain circumstances, the pros can outweigh the disadvantages.

A FUE procedure is usually recommended for people who do not need a large amount of work. This is usually a younger client who may still be thinking about the possibility of shaving her hair in the future. The advantage of having much less noticeable scars is an important factor in the decision between hair transplant techniques. As with most medical situations, every case is different and much is evaluated separately.

If you are considering a FUE hair transplant, it is advisable to contact one of the doctors who perform this procedure to discuss it directly with them. Many of these professionals can even make an assessment of your hair via the internet. All you have to do is send them some pictures and they will let you know if you are a good candidate for FUE.
